How can I stop being shy? And how can I express my feelings to others?


What do you want:


To be able to express yourself in-the-moment, to be open and feel ok with doing that. To saying what you want and much much more.


You are totally capable of doing all those things.


And no this isn’t one those positive thinking answers.


This isn't one of those just do it, practice, practice, practice and eventually you’ll get it


What is stopping you from putting yourself out there, is internal barriers.

Sounds obvious right, but stay with me for a moment.

  • Close your eyes and imagine, you are about to speak in front of some people/a person (try to imagine a situation you are usually shy in)

  • As you imagine the scenario, notice what feelings are coming up for you - its hard for you to express your feelings, so I’m guessing some level of fear, whether its anxiety, terror, apprehension

  • Now, notice the thoughts that are coming up for you - im guessing but some of thoughts that might pop up for you are what are people going to say about me, nobody wants to hear, i havent got anything good to say, etc

Why did you do this?


Look at the thoughts you wrote down:


what are people going to say about me, nobody wants to hear, i havent got anything good to say


What do these thoughts point to?


Beliefs (our own internal barriers)


Beliefs such as: what I have to say is not important, its not ok to express feelings; expressing feelings is dangerous, people arent interested in what I have to say


Remember above when I wrote “You are totally capable of doing all those things


That is totally true. There are just some barriers in your way preventing yourself from taking action,


Get rid of the barriers and see what you are capable of,
